Home > Face > Blepharoplasty/Eyelid Lift

An eyelid lift, also known as blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the eyelids. It involves removing excess skin, fat and muscle from the eyelid to create a more youthful and refreshed look. The procedure can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, depending on the patient’s needs and goals. The procedure can help correct signs of aging and the “tired look” of drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below the eyes.

What can you expect during the consultation?

During your initial consultation, Dr Ujwal Chirde will discuss with you about your expectation and goals. Will also explain in detail about the treatment plan that best delivers your desired outcome. An upper and/or lower blepharoplasty can be performed as an individual procedure or in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures like browlift, facelift.

How is the Blepharoplasty/Eyelid surgery performed?

An upper blepharoplasty can be performed under local anaesthesia. The incision will be placed within the crease of your eye so that any scar will be hidden. The procedure involves removal of strip of skin, muscle and excess fat. Incision will be closed with the suture which is removed after 5-7 days following surgery.

In lower blepharoplasty incision will be underneath the lower eyelash margin or on the undersurface of lower eyelid. Fat in the lower eyelid will be removed to create a smooth transition from eye to the cheek. Skin sutures will be removed on 5-7 days post-surgery.
